Dull and uninspired

That's how I would describe myself today. I've been up since 4:00 am because of a bladder infection so I'm not only tired but also not feeling quite 100%. Thankfully I was able to get to the doctor already and have taken the first dose of antibiotic. And even better- they usually work pretty quickly! Aimee is also home today. She's got one of the colds that are going around and has spent most of the day in bed asleep. I'm not sure how much of that was needed because of the cold and how much because of the schedule she normally keeps, but it was good for her to be able to catch up on her rest.
It's a gray, dreary, rainy and windy day. Not the type of day that inspires me to do anything but eat and sleep. I'm definitely a sunshine loving person. (I don't ever want to live in Seattle!) I feel like I haven't accomplished much of anything today. I did manage to get some easy recipes typed up for a friend who requested them and posted them on facebook already. That sounds a lot easier than it was because the wind keeps giving us little mini-power outages. Just long enough to turn off the computer and require me to re-set every clock in the house. I'm just glad it hasn't been an extended outage. I worry a little about the winds picking up even more this evening. I don't want to be stuck in the dark! (Although that might get me to bed earlier...)
I swear my posts are getting more and more boring each time. Pretty soon everyone can read my blog when they need help falling asleep at night! At this point, I'm feeling too dull to even worry about it. This really was just to update my blog and ramble on about nothingness. Hope you enjoyed it.

If you actually stayed awake for this whole post- here's some questions to give you something to leave comments on:
What are your plans for Valentine's Day? Do you have any special traditions? Are you a romantic or do you prefer practical stuff?

Patty, you are too hard on yourself! There are days when I tell myself if I only get ONE thing done, then it's okay. That might be one load of laundry and nothing else. Or making dinner and nothing else. Or writing a blog post and nothing else. But I've done *something.*

You typed up a bunch of recipes through mini-power outages. (That right there would be enough for me to give up on the computer for the day!) And you updated your blog. Hooray! And you've been to the dr. You are sick; Aimee is sick.

Seems to me that you have already accomplished an awful lot today! To me, that is inspiring and anything but dull!!!

You're not boring, just normal.

To answer your questions: For Valentine's Day, I hope to make my Never-Fail Sugar Cookies, and deliver some to neighbors and friends.
Then, for our romantic date, the Elder's Quorum and High Priests are having a dinner. Sounds romantic, right?? Oh, AND we have to PAY to go to the dinner. I'm sorry, I don't have the right attitude for this activity. Maybe, part of it is that there is a Stake Enrichment activity planned for FOUR hours earlier in the day --on Literacy-- with NO babysitting. Okay, I miss Fairfield. And I need to get over myself.
No traditions.
I've been practical for so long, but now I'm wanting romantic.

Sorry, apparently I needed to gripe.

Hey there - We're making valentine oreos and having a family valentine-themed dinner (My girls are 4 and 1). I think it would be neat to be romantic, but I'm tired of the high cost to be romantic... It's not like steak should really cost more on Feb 14... Oh well. I'll be at home with the fam. Keep smiling!

Patty, you aren't uninspired.

Sorry, couldn't resist letting my twisted sense of humor out to play. When I think of you, "dull" and "uninspired" NEVER come to mind - although there are days when that's exactly how I feel about myself.

Oh yeah, your questions...

No real traditions. We usually go out for dinner, but it doesn't have to be any fancier than usual. I am a romantic!! Love cards and flowers - more special because I don't always get them so it's not expected nor required.

This year half of my family is driving to Chicago for my niece's baptism while the other half stays here to fulfill responsibilities. No worries, though - Ray and I will celebrate later!
