Tis the Season!

Here's a better picture of our Christmas tree.
Here's what I've been up to today... I lost count but I think it's 7-8 dozen. (This was the one item left over from last week's to-do list.) Hopefully I'll get around to frosting them tonight. The recipe I use makes the most delicious sugar cookies ever. (I'm willing to share if anyone wants a copy!) My plan this year is to make 2-3 things really well, rather than trying to make 5-6 and ending up frazzled and cranky. I'm trying to keep Christmas simple and enjoyable this year.
This is the first time we've done a gingerbread house (pitiful, I know) but this kit from Aldi's really turned out cute!

I've found two "tools" that have really helped to keep me in the Christmas mood this year. It's two different radio stations. The first is 93.3, which is a Christian station that plays all Christmas music. (How can you go wrong listening to Christmas music??! It's the most joyful music in the world!)
The second one is 93.7 (www.wfcj.com, out of Dayton) It not only plays some Christmas music but also has great Christian programs. I enjoy hearing different perspectives and points of view and have loved being more focused on the Savior and the scriptures this month.

I can honestly say that this year I've been enjoying the holiday season a lot more and I've been blessed to be able to feel God's love so strongly.
It really IS the most wonderful time of the year!

Awesome! My best Christmas' have been those when I've been able to focus on the Savior instead of the busyness of the season.

I'd love your sugar cookie recipe!
