My daughter's experience

I got home from a really fun Mary Kay party and was in the middle of doing scripture reading with my daughter when she interrupted us because she just "had" to tell me of her experience at school that day. There are some times when I am so glad that she is so willing to share, and this was one of them!
Apparently during her language arts class she was in a group of students to do some reading (aloud.) The story they were reading happened to use God's name in vain numerous times. Aimee, being the wonderful girl she is, would in no way read that particular phrase. She would say "oh my goodness" or "oh my gosh" in it's place. This is nothing unusual for Aimee, but this time she noticed that one of the boys in her group suddenly started replacing the offensive phrase also! The first time he did it she thought to herself "did he really just say that?" As he continued doing it she realized that her example had helped someone else to be able to express himself without offending God. What a powerful example!! She was just so buoyed up by the experience, and hearing it in the middle of scripture reading just made it all the sweeter!

Way to go Aimee!! I like how she didn't make a big deal about it, but stuck to her beliefs and allowed others to do the same.

Awesome Aimee!! I only hope my kids would do the same thing. *high five Aimie* Keep up the great work. I know it's tough to stick up for what you believe.

Good job, Aimee! It's amazing what a little light shining on a hill can do.

That is so great Aimee what an example you are not just to your peers but to younger kids like mine too. Thanks for sharing Patty.

Yes yes, I am amazing aren't I!
(JK.) Well, it makes me feel good that everyone else likes hearing that and also I'm glad that that happened because those things don't happen all that often! Well, I have my own blog now too ( my mom convined me! )
